Where is Tärnaby?

Tärnaby is in Västerbotten county, in Swedish Lapland, close to the Norwegian border. Hemavan, with its ski resort and airport, is about 18 km away. Umeå on the coast is about 400 km by the E12 road. The property is on Blå vägen in the middle of the village.

How to get here

By air: Fly to Stockholm Arlanda and on to Hemavan Tärnaby Airport. From there it is about 20 minutes by car. You can also fly to Umeå and drive west on the E12, about 5 hours.
By car from Germany and the Netherlands: Take the Rostock–Trelleborg or Kiel–Gothenburg ferry, or drive through Denmark and over the Öresund bridge. Allow two days of driving. Follow the E4 up the coast to Umeå, then the E12 to Tärnaby.
From Norway: Mo i Rana is about 1.5 hours away. Many Norwegians have holiday cabins in the area.

At the end of the pier there is a helicopter pad. In the 1990s the site was a base for helicopter transport.

Mountains, outdoor life and Sámi culture

Hemavan Tärnaby is a well-known mountain destination. Downhill and cross-country skiing, ski touring, hiking, fishing and snowmobiling are all within reach of the property.
